James Harmon, CEO of harmon-edison, has over 25 years of experience in the video and audio production industry. As a producer/director, Mr. Harmon has worked with a diverse range of educational, corporate, association, media, and television broadcast. His clients include the NAHB, Lockheed Martin, Fannie Mae, Raytheon, Nextel, Nokia, Verizon, Toyota, SoftwareAG, NIH, NACS, and the television program “America’s Most Wanted.” He has produced and delivered award-winning programs in a wide variety of distribution formats including TV, Radio, DVD and Web. He has received multiple awards, including Monitor Awards, “Addies”, “Telly’s” and “Cine Golden Eagles”.
Prior to founding Harmon-Edison, he served as President and co-founder of Waveworks, formerly “Soundwave Post”, a full-service video and audio communication company with two locations and over 50 employees. The company provided audio, graphics and video services as well as digital media design and production for broadcasters, corporations, networks, advertisers and others needing high-end, creative services in the DC area.
Harmon has served as President of the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the International Tele-production Society, and on the international board of the ITS for six years, and continues to play an active role in the Tele-production industry. He is active on several Chambers of Commerce, and received the Small Business of the Year in 1997. He also taught classes in media production at Univ. of Texas, American Univ. and the Corcoran School. Mr. Harmon settled in the Washington, DC area in 1979, where he lives with his wife and three children.
